HX19 DEVICES

RFID USID combination of ultrasound and radio for precise fast multi-point 3D and 2D positioning and localization. Wireless ultrasonic position receivers and transmitters; for many applications, using only three basic components. The HX19 offers high speed, higher resolution, higher precision, long range and low power. What makes it so successful are the components.

Low Cost IP42 distance transmitter

The HX19T16 / 12 is a low power ultrasonic RFID position transmitter. It emits identity with both 2.4Ghz traverse waves and ultrasonic longitudinal waves. This transmitter is good for long range positioning up to 14 meters. There is an option for internal fixed or rechargeable battery, charged through a micro-usb socket provided. Some versions come with internal 3V battery. Battery lifetime is in terms of months to years, depending on the usage and sleep modes. Wireless 2.4Ghz bi-directional communication, provide access to the internal command system and the hx19 network. XYZ coordinates for this transmitter externally computed for autonomous navigation, can stream through the micro-USB serial (pin) channel at 16s/s.

Low Cost IP42 distance receiver/Ultrasonic IP67 watertight receiver

The hx19r12-IP42, is the standard hx19 receiver offered with the evaluation system. This unit is designed for indoors operation. It times the flight of the longitudinal ultrasonic wave, and decodes the identity of the incoming RFID and USID (ultrasonic identification). The distance to the RFID (ultrasonic) transmitter is  measured with a resolution of 1mm. And the result from each time of flight acquisition cycle is either stored in ring buffers for delayed polling, or broadcasted as it comes over 2.4GHZ RF channel. Indefinite number of receivers can be used to monitor the position of transmitters. I.e. the more receivers monitoring the more accurate is the position. This device comes in two versions one with a pigtail lead for a power supply, and the other with internal battery.

Hx19 wifi and Internet of Things

The HX19MS-WiFi acts as a WiFi (IEEE:802.11) standalone unit. When in range it will connect WiFi capable central computer devices to the hx19 through wifi and internet (IoT), or serve as an access point where communiation is limited locally. Through the HX19MS-WiFi the user can use the utility programs that come with the HX19 system to monitor and control all HX19 devices.

Hx19 USB/TTL Serial Monitor Synchronizer

The hx19msV3.1sio has the same features as the hx19msV3.1 in addition the user can apply TTL control of the hx19 device network through the micromatch window seen on the right. Furthermore the user also has the ability to synchronize the device with a TTL pulse applied to one of the pins. This allows the system to be synchronized with video filming frames real time. Like the standard hx19msV3.1 the sampling rate is adjustable so the activity can be user fitted into video frames. By using the TTL sio (serial i/o) the user has the same control over the Hx19 network using computer devices that don't have USB, as those who do. All other specs and features described for the hx19ms3.1 apply also to the hx19msV3.1sio.

This devices also allows FTDI USB interface, drivers are available for many operating systems.

Ultrasonic IP67 watertight RFID transmitter

The HX19T8E-IP67 is a weatherized ultrasonic RFID position transmitter. Range to 5 meters depending on mode of operation, and the receiver type used to receive the signal.  Transducer face is zinc coded steel. Some versions come with internal 3V battery. Battery lifetime is in terms of months to years, depending on the usage and sleep modes. Wireless 2.4Ghz bi-directional communication, provide access to the internal command system.

PCB transmitters

The HX19T series PCB ultrasonic position transmitter. Maximum ultrasonic positioning range, varies from about 6 meters up to 14 meters, depending on mode of operation, sensor and the receiver type used to receive the signal. Micro USB provides direct computer access to internal command system, and the hx19 2.4Ghz network. It can also be used to recharge the unit. Backside has mounting for batteries, fixed or rechargeable.  The unit comes with a 2.4Ghz transceiver for wireless bi-directional communication and RF identification.

PCB receiver

On the right the image shows a fully assembled HX19R part number (HX19R16-PCB-BAT-485). The board is assembled using hx40trc sensor, internal battery CR2032 and external RS485 network connector FCC RJ12. On board 2.4Ghz RF transceiver links the device to the hx19 command network.

HX19 Network monitor/synchronizer

The hx19ms gives the programmer direct access to the wireless network. It also synchronizes all the devices in range. Using this device many computers can eavesdrop and all utilize the distance/identity data broadcasted by hx19 devices.

The HX19MS comes with two interface options, USB and RS232. Other interface options such as RS485, SPI, I2C, CAN and more can be provided on request. The USB uses a common driver FTDI this driver comes installed on for most operating systems

hx19 IMU drift correction

The hexamite ultrasonic xyzlab setup can be useful to cancel IMU yaw drift. It can also be used to find the initial condition and provide absolute coordinates for IMU extrapolation and interpolation. Hx19lab is very precise, and smoothly stable for slow moving objects. IMU can be used to achieve reality sensation by increasing the sampling to over 43 s/s. The xyzLab setup below can be placed by every wall to create a surround positioning. Although hexamite 3d ultrasonic positioning requires only 3 receivers and 1 tag, for computational simplicity the xyzLab standard is to use 4 units, spaced at equal distances for 3d Cartesian coordinate results.

Hx19 measurement is in millimeters. The distances between receivers on the hx19xyzLab cross is always 1000mm, so the axes should be in terms of mm instead of m.

hx19 position emitter

HX19T18E-IP67 is a weatherized ultrasonic RFID position transmitter. Range varies from about 6 meters up to 14 meters depending on mode of operation, and the receiver type used to receive the signal. HX19T18E-IP67 emits identity with both 2.4Ghz traverse and ultrasonic longitudinal waves. Option is provided for internal fixed or rechargeable battery, charged through a micro-usb socket. Some versions come with internal 3V battery. Battery lifetime is in terms of months to years, depending on the usage and sleep modes. Wireless 2.4Ghz bi-directional communication, provide access to the internal command system and the hx19 network. xyz coordinates for this transmitter centrally computed for automated navigation can stream through the micro-USB serial (pin) at 16s/s.

Transceiver range 35m high speed/precision

Hx19tr is a very high speed, high precision ultrasonic positioning system, with a significantly improved range up to 35 meters and 5mm precision (25khz sensor). Maximum sampling rate is 64 samples/second and the system can be multi-layer, frequency separation multiplies the positioning frame rate. Using 2 frequency layers 25khz and 40khz enables a total acquisition of 128 (xyz) coordinate points per second. The device on the right is a hx19tr40khz-USB it has an internal FDTI USB controller, drivers are available for many operating systems.

The hx19tr is designed to serve many positioning needs, and serves equally well for guidance and tracking. Each hx19tr is a transponder, useful as both a transmitter and a receiver. It also times its own echo, adding anti-collision features to the system; while providing the distance from itself to any other active members of the hx19 family.

TRANSRECIEVER SERIAL WIRE

The hx19tr comes with a four conductor pigtail lead, red, blue, green and black. Red and Green are the power wires, where Green is the reference (ground), and the red provides the supply voltage ranging from 4V to 16Vdc. Yellow and Orange are used as communication signal carriers. All hx19tr types have a wire interface, or may be terminated with a USB plug for computers. Some hx19tr devices will have additional RF wireless  interface. The wireless units synchronize communities of hx19tr devices, and provide data-link between networks as well as individual devices. What is received by wireless communication is repeated on the wire, and what comes over the wire is repeated by RF wireless broadcast. The same applies to the USB version.

The hx19tr, is server to wireless network or wired network. It repeats incoming data on the wire through wireless broadcast and vice versa. Operation is simplex, i.e. the device must wait for transmission to finish before sending a reply. It simplifies wiring by allowing communication through a single wire, and a ground return, or long-range rs485 communications. It is self-sufficient needs no support and has echo mode embedded into its positioning cycle.
